After the festive season of Chinese New Year, most people would either spent all their money or save it up for future use. Over the last few years, I had decided to save all of my red packet money, but this year it's different. With the growing number of wants on my wanted list, I think it's time to open the bank and start pampering myself. $300 is my budget. So, which things should I get? Is it a new pair of shoes? A Wii? Guitar Hero World Tour? (it's a game if you dont know) or a new ipod? Following these few days, I have narrowed my options to the Wii and Guitar Hero World Tour. Both items cost $300 which is right at my intended spendings. My Mum and sisters say the Wii while my friends tell me the Guitar Hero World Tour so which should I pick?? I'm in such a dilemma now. Okay, okay let's list down the pros and cons, it's the best way to make the right choice which would cost me hundreds of dollars. I will never want to make the wrong decision....
A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and detect movement in three dimensions. This is extremely cool as you get to for example, swing your hand like a racket to hit the ball in the game, the speed and direction of the ball depends on the swing. There are so many games for purchase at reasonable prices and with 4-player multiplayer, it's the best for a family time or a party.
The Guitar hero is also more or less the same but its a game, not a console. Its a musical game which requires a group of friends to carry different intruments like the guitar, bass, drum or the mike and play the required beads to play the song. There are colour labels on every intrument execpt the mike and whenever the colour appears on the Tv, you need to hit or strum the colour. For the guy using the mike, he or she would just sing and the computer will judge according to the correct tunes. It's amazingly fun and it never gets boring as its not too easy nor too hard. Well, at this momment, I'm considering the Wii but I hope whoever is reading this will give me your views and post on my Cbox. Thx!!
3,2,1, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!! My whole family gathers every year on this very day to celeberate and welcome this festive season. Together with auspicious and gourmet foods like roasted ducks and Abalones, we enjoy precious family times by just watching Tv, Chit chatting and my Uncles' favourite, Karaoke. They all have powerful voices, each with their different pitches, just like a choir but only the 3 of them, would sing and create an atmosphere of joy and happines. For me, I'll always hang out with my cousins (By the way, they are all above 30 years) and they would tell jokes and one will never fail to share his experiences about Tai Chi. He loves it ever since he started learning and likes to perform his skills and talents in front of us. What a show off right? but he is truly amazing, hit him with a bamboo pole on his stomach and it'll break into 2. Push him with a finger at his throat and he would simply make you fly back off balance. Of course, Chinese New Year is more or less all about Hong baos and blessings so I started the first day by visiting my God-Grandmother (my dad was adopted by his Auntie). She stays by herself at Pipit road which is an area of low cost HDB flats meant for the elderly. Sometimes, I don't like going there as the lift lobbies and staircases are very dirty. There is always a stench of urine and once a while feaces, true enough once the lift opened, a big puddle of yellow liquid was there on the floor. As she stayed on the tenth storey, we had no choice but to avoid the "Thing" and hold our breath while we went up. Finally we reached her unit and we greeted her and her guests when we went in. Titbits were a galore as I munched away followed by the Hong Baos. The next stop was my Great grandmother's house. She is in the pink of health, in her 90's and yet still able to move around. That's a milestone everyone wants to reach. I look forward going there every year as I get to also appreciate traditional delights. Top of my list is the Rice cake, it's a redish pink cake which is filled with glutinous rice inside that is extremely tasty. Afterwards, we drove over to my cousin's new home which is just opposite. He got married a couple of months ago and only recently moved in. It's a small 3 room condominium that is nicely designed and has a beautiful living room. We played Wii over there. It was the tennis game that needed us to swing the controller like a racket to hit the ball. Technology is so advance now adays that the controller does not even need a wire. We had lots of fun and even my parents joined along. By the time I got home, $300 of cold hard cash was in my pocket. I am delighted as my target has been furfilled, my savings have gone up again and this means more things to be bought. I wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope all of you guys would enjoy yourselves!!!
After a tiring day or maybe when I'm done with all the school assignments, it's good to just laze around and relax. I love sitting on the all comfortable sofa of mine and just enjoy movies or shows on the Tv. Sometimes, my friends and I would walk over to street soccer court which is right outside our house. We and some other guys from the neighbourhood would come together to socialize and of course experience the beautiful game.
Still, one of my best-loved pastimes is the PS3. This is the most AWSOME game console, I can finally feel the powerful resolutions of playing HD gaming. it is also able to play Blue-ray movies, DVD, listen to music, enjoy pictures of those wonderful momments and definitely surfing the net.
Just recently, I got a new game from World of JJ at East Point. Those who have Xbox, Wii or PS3, these guys sell games at extremely reasonable prices. You can even trade it back after completing a game at half the price!! Getting back, for every gamer who likes racing, it is a must to buy Midnight Club Los Angeles. At a price of $79, the game is tottaly worth it.
Midnight Club was realesed on October 20th by Rockstar Games, it is based on the American state of Los Angeles. Every detail and landmarks are brought to life along with plenty of highlights. It changes from day to night, sunny to downcast, there are people walking on the streets and you can even stop by the gas station for a repair or a top up. As for the racing itself, Rockstar San Diego has once again done a great job with the handling, general physics and overall feeling of the driving. Cars (and bikes, for that matter) kick and squeal when you hit the gas, and then take off in a plume of smoke. The controls are intentionally not as tight for example, making you rely more on powerslides for taking turns, and this works extremely well.
The differences between each of the cars in the game is also great. Muscle cars handle very differently from tuners, and both handle very differently than the exotics. Muscle cars are generally the hardest thing to handle in the game, but they're also incredible fun, making the tradeoff from going with a steadier ride totally worth it. The event variation in the game is generally very good, with everything from time trials to delivery missions (essentially time trials with damage penalties), series events and much more are here. The story is quite basic, as it should be, and does a good job of staying out of the way of your progression. Speaking of staying out of the way, the game keeps you in the seat of the car at pretty much all times. Race results come up in a little pop-up window that pauses the game for just a second, and once you've OKed the results, you're back in control again. Aside from tinkering with the GPS system to plot routes, you'll never feel like you're disconnected from the race experience for more than a couple seconds, which is great. You can even race to the starting line of most every race, which once again helps get you right into the action without any waiting.
You will, however, have to deal with the cops, and they can slow down your experience a bit. If they catch you speeding, you can just pull over and pay a small fine (or choose to drive away as the cop approaches your window and enter a full-on chase), but anything more than this will result in a chase. Getting away can be a challenge, and while it's certainly fun, you'll find yourself in chases more often than you'd like. If you stop and just let them catch you, you'll have to pay a fine (which may not impact your bottom line much), but you'll also then be set at the police station, which may be far away from where you were going to head to next. Then on your way back again, if you're not careful, you may wind up in another chase, spend a while escaping, and then one way or another probably be far from where you were going once again. While the menu system does its best to stay out of the way and let you race, the cops will impede on your fun if you're trying to compete mission after mission.
Every race will earn you rep but most importantly cash, you then can spent it on better rides or by customizing your car. Upgrading the engine, force induction or the suspensions will all make your ride faster and easier to control. Paint jobs and different body kits will also beautify the car making it the way you like it.
Midnight Club: Los Angeles is a great racing experience, fans of street racing, and especially the Midnight Club series in general, will find a lot to like here.
Yesterday was one of our friendlies to get ready for the football East Zone tournament. We were up against PasirRis Sec that was supposed to be an easy game for us (Victoria Sch). However, after a series of unfortunate events, it proofed to be a tough one. We as a team started our warm up by jogging around the school followed by good stretching. The match soon got on the way but I was not named in the starting 11 due to my poor form in training and previous matches. I was fairly disappointed; nevertheless I could only blame myself. As time drew closer to half time, the score was still even with no goals. Both sides were putting up a tough fight and no one was giving in until a horrible challenge was made on our star player (Asrin). He was hit hard on the ankle and had to be substituted off the pitch. It was my responsibility now to take his role as I was called to replace him. There was lots of pressure and the expectations were high. With only a few minutes left to the break, nothing much happened. The team talk was inspiring and it motivated all of us to work even harder to seal this match. When the whistle blew, the second half started. Just as I received the ball and made a good pass to the right wing, the striker immediately went challenging me, miss-timing his tackle, fouling me in the process. This was when I realized how aggressive they were. Clearance after clearance, that was the best I could do. Then the tiniest mistake in our defence resulted in a goal. We all tried our best but somehow it was not our day, missing an open goal and an one-on-one with the keeper, we just wasted our chances. As full time approached, we went ultra offensive. With the defence pushed up, PasirRis counter attacked and we conceded again. We were all upset and let down, despite that this shows we need to work on our mistakes, try harder and never give up. Would you like to write a blog and let it be graded for your CA1? And I mean 50% of English. Sounds good right? Well because that's what I gotta do which is so cool! All I need is to post a 5 day reflection and each needs at least 250 words only. Doing this is so much better than written work or tests after tests. It is not necessary to stress ourselves right after the start of school. However, I have a slight problem in terms of creating the blog. Thank goodness there is a very helpful sister to turn to. When it came to the theme, Cbox and the music, it was so complicating. Everything was in HTML format and I wonder how a 9 year old could do all this. She really made me look like a complete fool here=) Now calling her stupid makes me look even more dense. In the following weeks, I hope something extraordinary will occur and this memorable event would be fully enjoyed together with you.
